Breathwork for Gut-Brain Regulation

Private sessions in Shoreham or online.
Is Stress Driving Your Gut Symptoms?
You’re Not Alone: Stress doesn’t just affect your thoughts — many digestive symptoms worsen when your nervous system is in high alert, and ongoing pressure can drain your energy.
The Ongoing Pattern: You manage your food, your supplements, your schedule — yet your body still feels tense, reactive, or on edge.
Gut-Brain Tension: Digestive symptoms flare during overwhelm, fatigue doesn’t improve with rest, and calm never quite lasts.
Ready for a Reset: You want your digestion to settle, your nervous system to calm, and your energy to support the life you want to live.
There is a Way To Restore Calm. Let’s work with your nervous system — not against it — and support your gut from the inside out.
Imagine a Body That Feels Safe Again
When your nervous system settles, everything changes — your digestion, your energy, your mood, and your sense of control.
Here’s what regulation can support:

Steadier Digestion & Less Reactivity
Feel your gut settle under pressure instead of tightening in response.

Calmer Breathing & Reduced Tension
Shift out of constant high alert and into a more grounded, steady rhythm.

Improved Energy & Focus
Move beyond “wired but tired” and feel more resilient throughout your day.

Feeling Calmer & In Control
Understand how to regulate your system so you feel calmer and more in control.
This is what becomes possible when you work with your nervous system — not against it.
Nervous System Regulation & The Gut–Brain Connection
Your digestion doesn’t function independently from your stress response.
The autonomic nervous system directly influences gut motility, sensitivity, inflammation, and blood flow. When your body stays in high alert, digestion often becomes reactive.
Breath is one of the few tools that allows conscious influence over the autonomic nervous system.
By working with structured breathing patterns, we can support:
- A shift out of fight-or-flight
- Improved vagal tone
- Reduced stress-driven gut symptoms
- Greater emotional regulation
This is why breathwork sits at the centre of my Gut–Brain–Breath methodology.
Why Rhythm Matters
The nervous system responds to rhythm.
Steady, repetitive auditory and somatic rhythm can support a process called entrainment — where physiological patterns begin to synchronise to a regulating stimulus.
In some sessions, I incorporate gentle drumming to support pacing and help the body settle into a steady rhythm.
This is not performance or ceremony — it’s rhythm applied intentionally to support regulation.
Explore Your Breathwork Options
Breathwork for nervous system regulation looks different for everyone. You can begin with a small-group breathwork class in Southwick or Worthing, explore a focused private reset, or integrate breathwork into personalised gut–brain support.
Wherever you start, the aim is the same: to help your nervous system settle so digestion, energy and emotional steadiness can follow.

TREMENDOUS DIFFERENCE
“I was breathless and lacked energy.”
“Your programme looked at all the different aspects of my health. The most beneficial are the breathwork, sleep, and nutrition.”
My Approach
I am a certified breathwork coach with a foundation in pranayama-based techniques.
During my years living in the jungle, I learned that healing is rhythmic and embodied. Breath, food, movement and rest were not separate practices — they were woven into daily life.
Today, I integrate that understanding with modern research on the gut–brain axis and nervous system regulation.
My sessions combine:
- Traditional breath practices
- Modern nervous system science
- Clinical experience supporting digestive clients
- The focus is always structured, safe, and regulation-led.
This is not hyperventilation or cathartic breathwork.
It is intentional nervous system training.
Frequently Asked Questions
If you’re unsure about whether breathwork is right for you, these answers may help. If you have a question not covered below, don’t hesitate to reach out via my Contact Page.
How often should I attend?
Sessions run monthly in each location. You’re welcome to attend as a one-off reset or come regularly if you find them supportive. I also encourage simple breath practices between sessions to help build consistency and regulation over time.
Is breathwork safe for everyone?
Breathwork is generally safe when guided appropriately, but it may not be suitable for certain medical conditions. If you have cardiovascular issues, uncontrolled high blood pressure, epilepsy, are pregnant, or have concerns, please contact me before booking.
What if I have digestive issues?
These sessions are designed with gut–brain regulation in mind. If you experience stress-related digestive symptoms, breathwork can be supportive. If you have a complex medical condition, reach out beforehand.
Do I need experience with breathwork?
No. Sessions are guided and suitable for beginners. Clear instructions are given throughout.
Is this shamanic, ceremonial, or trauma-release breathwork?
No. These sessions are structured and regulation-focused. While they may feel calming or restorative, the intention is steady nervous system support — not intense emotional release or psychotherapy.
