I offer private, personalised fermenting classes that can be hosted in my home, in your home (if within a 15-mile radius of Lancing), or online. Classes are 2-4 hours long depending on how much hands-on time you want, and can be customised to suit your fermenting interests and goals.

Why Ferment?
Fermenting is not only a way to preserve food, but also a way to enhance its health benefits. Fermented foods are rich in probiotics, which are beneficial bacteria that support your gut health and immune system. Probiotics can also help improve your digestion, reduce inflammation, and prevent or treat various diseases.
Your gut health is essential for your overall well-being, as it affects your digestion, metabolism, mood, immunity and more. A healthy gut microbiome can help support various conditions, such as irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, obesity, diabetes, depression, anxiety, and allergies.
Fermented foods contain live cultures of beneficial bacteria that can colonize your gut and balance your microbiome. They also produce short-chain fatty acids, which are anti-inflammatory compounds that nourish your gut lining and protect it from damage.
In addition, fermented foods contain enzymes, vitamins, minerals, and organic acids that make them easier to digest and more nutritious than their unfermented counterparts. Fermenting can also increase the bioavailability of nutrients, meaning that your body can absorb more of them.
Fermenting is also good for the environment, as it reduces food waste, saves energy, and lowers greenhouse gas emissions. By fermenting your own food, you can also control the ingredients, avoid additives, and customize the flavour.

Your Instructor
Hi, I’m Nikkie, and I’m passionate about gut health and natural healing. I’ve spent the past 15 years exploring the role that diet, lifestyle, and mindset play in digestive health, mostly in the jungle of Costa Rica. There, I discovered the benefits of fermenting for gut health and established my business, Jungle Goddess, where I made and sold fermented foods and drinks, taught people how to ferment, and guided people with gut health problems and food intolerances.
In the last few years, I’ve trained as a nutritionist and breathwork coach, helping people on their own health journeys adopting a gut-centric approach to a healthier way of living. I offer one-on-one consultations, talks, webinars, and continue to teach fermenting.
Whether you want to learn how to make your own fermented foods, improve your diet and lifestyle, or transform your mindset and relationship with your body, I’m here to help you achieve your goals and live your best life.
